On the move by bike.

You can combine travel by bike and by train in any number of ways to make the most of both forms of transport. Discover our comprehensive range of services.

  

BikeParking.

Simply park your bike or motorbike at the station and hop onto a train.


Send your bike as luggage to any destination in Switzerland.

Take your bike to the luggage counter at any station and send it as an item of luggage.


Send your bike as luggage abroad.

You can also send your bike as luggage to destinations in Germany and Austria.


Take your bike on board as hand luggage.

Passengers can take dismantled bikes in suitable carry cases as hand luggage on some services.

  

Accompanied bikes on trains in Switzerland.

On many Swiss trains, you can simply load your bike yourself and take it with you.


Accompanied bikes on trains abroad.

SBB and some neighbouring rail networks also allow accompanied bikes on trains beyond the Swiss border.


Bike rental at stations.

Handy rental bikes are available from around 80 SBB stations and from some stations of private railways.

  

Loan bikes.

In the Zug/Lucerne region you can even transfer from trains to a loan bike.


Buying a “Velo-Vignette”.

The compulsory “Velo-Vignette” (bike insurance sticker) from Elvia is available at all SBB ticket counters.

  

Finding and booking all-inclusive packages.

SBB RailAway has a number of complete packages including train travel, bike rental and selected tours.
