Concessionary fares for passengers with a disability.
In principle, international passengers with a disability are also entitled
to concessionary
fares on all routes within Switzerland.
Are you blind, severely visually
impaired or a wheelchair user?
Most European countries will recognise a ticket issued in Switzerland as valid for both you yourself
and your travelling companion or guide dog, if you are the holder of an ID Card for Passengers with
a Disability. Please ask your station for details.
Travelling abroad.
Although a disabled person's ID card issued abroad will not entitle you to concessionary
fares in Switzerland, tickets for the blind, the visually impaired or wheelchair users purchased
abroad with your disabled person's ID card will be recognised in Switzerland as well.
Seat reservations.
Wheelchair users travelling alone within Switzerland cannot reserve seats. When
travelling abroad, however, we strongly urge you to reserve a seat (at the station or by calling Rail
Service at 0900 300 300, CHF 1.19/min.) at least three working days before the date of departure. Please
note that seat reservations are mandatory on all TGV trains.
Notifying SBB Call Center Handicap.
Please notify SBB Call Center Handicap of your trip abroad no later than three working
days before the date of departure. In addition to all the usual details, SBB Call Center Handicap will
need to know your seat number and the number of the carriage.
