From fettuccini to the Forum: visit Italy.

Example: Milan from 30 francs.*
Thanks to EuroCity connections it is easy to reach Italy from Switzerland and there
are several trains each day to Milan, where you may be tempted to shop for the latest fashion trends.
Or perhaps you would enjoy the romantic atmosphere of Venice, unique city of canals and lagoons. With
a change in Milan, you can of course travel by day to Florence, a must for its many top-class works
of art and palaces alone. You may also wish to visit Rome, a vibrant melting pot of the antique and
the modern.
Buongiorno SBB and Trenitalia.
From 13 December 2009, SBB and Trenitalia are taking charge of all international
trains between Switzerland and Italy.
Two-hourly service across the Gotthard.
A EuroCity ETR 470 operates every two hours during the day from Zurich to Milan
and Milan to Zurich. When travelling on the Basel SBB–Olten–Lucerne–Milan line via the Gotthard there
are immediate connections for these trains in Arth-Goldau.
On the Lötschberg–Simplon route.
You can now travel in the new EuroCity ETR 610 to Italy from Geneva as well as Basel
SBB and Bern. From Basel to Milan there are three of these trains each way, and four from Geneva to
Milan, one of which continues on to Venice. You will experience a better ride in these new tilting trains.
The seats are ergonomically shaped and adjustable. There is much more space for luggage, the windows
are larger and there are sockets for Italian and Swiss connectors.
On-board catering in the EuroCity ETR 470 and ETR 610.
The restaurant serves typical Italian dishes freshly prepared in the on-board kitchen.
Reserve your place in the dining car. You can also obtain snacks from the mini bar.
We have put together a few travel tips for you, and we’d like to wish you a great
